On 26–28 June the focus was firmly on Swedish-designed furniture as part of the second annual export initiative that goes under the name of Swedish Midsummer Design Weekend.
Influential European architects were invited to visit Stockholm to enjoy the opportunity of sampling a unique cross-section of Swedish design and experiencing the Swedish lifestyle at first hand.
The weekend showcased the products of Skandiform and 13 other furniture design companies, in cooperation with the Trade and Employers’ Association of the Wood Processing and Furniture Industry in Sweden (TMF), VisitSweden and Stockholm International Fairs’ Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair.

At Skandiform we take a proactive approach to issues relating to the environment, working conditions and corporate social responsibility. We have always regarded this as a fundamental part of our day-to-day operations, but today it has also become an important criterion for retaining our credibility and appeal in the market.
We have worked hard over the past few years to achieve the position that we are now proud to hold.
In 2003 we were certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 environmental management system. In 2011 we received ISO 9001 certification for our quality management system and this was followed two years later by OHSAS 18001 certification for our occupational health and safety system.
Since February 2014 we also hold an FSC® certificate, which enables us to offer customers furniture made from wood that comes from responsibly managed forests.
We work continuously to promote sustainable development among our suppliers and to comply with ISO 26000 guidelines on social responsibility.
Our most important environmental goals are to work towards eco-labelling all our products and to ensure that work with our suppliers continues to develop positively. This latter goal also has a significant indirect impact, as its effect is felt not only within Skandiform, but also in various ways and at various levels beyond our own organisation. This initiative has already borne fruit, for example in the way some suppliers have sought and gained certification for their own environmental work.
Visit our new Sustainability page online. You’ll find details there of our work on sustainability issues, social responsibility and product labelling. You can also download our Sustainability Policy and copies of our three ISO certificates.

At Stockholm Furniture Fair, on 4-8 February, we are launching three new products.
Deli armchair with its embracing seat shell, the upholstered seat and frame in metal or wood, is beautiful to look at and of course comfortable to sit in. Perfect in conference rooms, in exclusive cafés or in a calm lounge setting. Design: Thomas Pedersen.
Spino modular sofa is playful and easy to understand with only three different sections: They can be built together with or without backrests, in a convex or concave way. The sofa balances on a thin runner that creates the strong Spino. A heavy piece of furniture with a visual lightness. Design: Stefan Borselius.
Modulor is a series of conference tables named after Le Corbusier's system for measurements based on the human body. Frame in aluminium and top in laminate. With a wide range of sizes and possibility to make special versions makes this the table for any type of setting. Design: Claesson Koivisto Rune

Wood is an important material in our products. Some furniture consists entirely of wood, while other products contain wood in the frame that may not be visible
For us, forests are important because they affect humans, animals and the natural cycle in many ways. We choose to buy FSC® certified wood whenever possible, and our aim is for all products that contain wood to come from FSC certified forests.
FSC® is a global, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide.
